LaFAYETTE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY NEEDS EASTER BASKETS FOR ANNUAL CITY WIDE EASTER EGG HUNT
The LaFayette Downtown Development Authority is asking area businesses for donated Easter baskets as prizes for the city’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 19th at 11 a. m. The day is filled with fun for the whole family with Easter egg hunts, bunny hop races and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
This year the event will be held at the Ross Abney Complex. Main Street Manager and DDA Director Kevin Dunn says the location change is positive. “Using the old high school field puts the facility to good use and makes sure that the Easter Egg hunt is safe for our kids. We won’t have to worry about traffic going down Main Street during the event.”
Children who find the prized eggs are awarded donated Easter baskets. Businesses interested in helping may drop of baskets or monetary donations at city hall, Debbi’s Flowers, Jason Long State Farm, the Bank of LaFayette and Ty Willeford’s Edward Jones office now through Friday, May 18th.
Joe Moore, DDA president, says the community Easter egg hunt would not be possible with your local support. “Our city does a great job putting on this event and buying eggs, but we need citizens to support the event with their participation and contributions,” Moore says.
The hunt is free to the public and the rain date is set for the following Saturday morning.
