Walker County Gala

The Walker County Gala is a black-tie event held at the Fairyland Club on Lookout Mountain each fall. Initiated more than 30 years ago, the Gala serves as the evening in which one deserving individual is formally recognized as the Walker County Citizen of the Year.

A different theme for the Gala is designated each year, allowing for an elegant evening complimented by an element of fun. From “Casino Royale” to “The Roaring 20’s”, attendees enjoy participating in our most anticipated night of the year.

Walker County Citizen of the Year

The highlight of the Gala is the announcement of the Walker County Citizen of the Year.

Each year, the community is asked to submit nominations for the Citizen of the Year. The recipient is selected based on volunteer contributions to Walker County.

Selection Process
The nominations are reviewed by a committee comprised of residents from each of the four cities in the county, a past recipient of the award, and volunteers from the Chamber membership. A new selection committee is appointed each year.
