Below is a list of the Programs and Events hosted by the Walker County Chamber of Commerce and its committees.
Education & Community Development Division
Education Committee
This committee works with Chickamauga City Schools, Walker County Schools and Georgia Northwestern Technical College to advance the education of Walker County's students by providing a Youth Leadership program, sponsoring STAR Students and working with GOAL students to promote Education.
Leadership Walker County
This program provides advanced leadership training to emerging community leaders.
Senior Citizens Day
Yearly event to honor Walker County's senior citizens.
Member Services Division
Ambassador Committee
An ambassador is a goodwill volunteer for the Chamber who makes members feel appreciated, makes them aware of Chamber functions and encourages Chamber involvement. Membership is a great way to make business contacts and gather sales leads.
Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreakings
These events are to help the community know about the diverse business happenings in the community.
Best of Walker Committee
A contest in which residents are encouraged to vote for their favorites in local services.
Governmental & Legislative Affairs Division
Governmental Affairs Committee
This committee visits the Georgia General Assembly, determines issues the Chamber is concerned with, sponsors State of the County luncheons and a Candidate's Forum.
Business Development Division
Business & Industry Committee
This committee helps to sustain and gain businesses in Walker County by providing a forum for businesses.
Tourism Committee
A committee composed of Chamber and non-Chamber members with a vested interest in Tourism in Walker County.
Entrepreneur Resource Center
The Chamber has compiled many worshops and other sources of business assistance are available and are listed on this page. Also available is a bank of buildings and offices available for small businesses.
Special Events Division
Golf Tournament
The Chamber hosts an annual golf tournament which includes a great day of golf, networking and a little friendly competition.
Walker County Gala
The Gala is an annual black-tie event where dinner, dancing and networking go hand in hand. THe Walker County Citizen of the Year is named at this event.
Walker County Citizen of the Year
The Citizen of the Year is chosen by a committee based on their service to the community and is announced at the annual Walker County Gala.
Annual Dinner
Held each January, this event honors the past year's events officially announces the new Chairman of the Board and features entertainment. The Chamber Member of the Year and the Small Business of the Year Winners are also announced.
Chamber Member of the Year
The Chamber Member of the Year is selected by a committee and is announced at the Annual Dinner.
Small Business of the Year
Awarded yearly to a small business that makes an impact on the local community and economy.
Balloons & Tunes Festival
Held annually the fourth weekend in September, this even brings the entire commuity together for a fun weekend which includes hot air balloons, entertainment, food and much more!
