Walker County Chamber of Commerce

Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreakings

Are you celebrating:
A new business?
A new location?
25 years in business?
Then it’s a great time to celebrate with a ribbon cutting or groundbreaking to get some FREE publicity and exposure!
How do Chamber members participate?
PICK A DATE:
Pick a day and time that you would like to host your event. Historically, it is best to pick a Tuesday-Thursday around lunch time to achieve the best attendance. Then call the Chamber to make sure that we get it on our calendars also!

WHAT THE CHAMBER WILL DO:
The Walker County Chamber will invite Chamber members, Ambassadors, elected officials and local media. The Chamber staff will arrive 15-30 minutes before the ceremony with a ribbon and scissors or shovels for your event. Once a picture is taken, the staff will write a summary of the event and submit it to the Walker County Messenger. Please note, the Chamber CANNOT guarantee that the picture and write-up will appear in the newspaper.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
On the day of the event, be sure that your business is ready for guests and tours are available. It is a good idea, but not required, to have a small amount of food and beverages to welcome your guests and encourage them to stick around. You are welcome to prepare a small speech to thank the attendees and/or introduce staff.
