The Walker County Chamber of Commerce also operates as a Regional Visitor Information Center as designated by the state of Georgia's Department of Economic Development - Tourism Division.
Part of our job at the Chamber is to help you make business connections. After all, in this age of social media, it's still word-of-mouth advertising and recommendations from colleagues and family members that carry the most weight, even if those recommendations come in the form of a Facebook comment.
In today's business world, rest assured there is still a very real need to communicate face-to-face. That's why we were honored to host more than 80 of you on Tuesday at our speed networking luncheon.
Attendees were given the opportunity to sit across from another member of the business community and talk about their respective businesses for 3 minutes, when they rotated seats to speak to a new contact.
From non-profits and small businesses to some of our largest manufacturers, businesses across Walker County were well represented at the event. We received a lot of positive feedback as well and hope to make it an annual networking event.
Special thanks to Kim Carson with Sunny 92.3FM for emceeing, as well as new member Bob's Brick Oven for providing the food, The Meeting Company for providing the table linens, and Vince Stalling for taking professional headshots of the guests. (Those will be available next week.)
