I had the pleasure of trying paddle boarding a couple of weeks ago on the LaFayette City Lake. It was a wonderful experience. L2 Outside provided a demo day on our lake and brought several different styles and size boards for everyone to try. They supplied the paddle boards and equipment and we had all the fun of trying it out. There is so much beauty surrounding our lake. We have the beautiful mountains and landscapes plus the water is so peaceful. All this made for a great day with lots of smiles and happy faces from all ages. L2 Outside also does a Free Friday Demo Day most Fridays during the summer from 6-8 at their location in Flintstone, 286 Lake City Dr. Flintstone, Ga. And L2 Outside is always doing adventures from their Chattanooga location by the river at 100 Market St, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402. They even do a Sunset Paddleboard Tour down the river on Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30-8:30. We are so fortunate to have this resource available to learn how to play and enjoy the beauty and peace from our lakes and rivers!
What you don’t know may be just below the surface…
Now to another adventure most of us aren’t aware of or don't experience is the vast number of caves we have in Walker County. When you think you have seen it all in Walker County, you may have to get down on your hands and knees and crawl in one of our many caves hidden within our county. However, I only recommend this with an experienced guide leading the tour. G3 Adventures is our own locally owned and operated caving touring company. They are located in LaFayette at 115 N. Chattanooga St. You can find out how to schedule tours through their Facebook page.
This adventure has been one of my most challenging and interesting ones in a long time. This is not your everyday excursion. It is with helmets, headlamps, kneepads and gloves all provided for by G3 Adventures. This is an adventure some people won’t have the opportunity to do in their lifetime and we are located in Walker County where we have all level of caving adventures available.
More and more people are talking about all the wonderful outdoor adventures we have right here at home. While riding bikes with a cycling group last week, one gentlemen told me he came to this area to retire from up north because he saw everyone outdoors riding, hiking, kayaking… and he said his retirement has been like he has been on vacation every day since he moved here almost 2 years ago. There is very little you can’t do in the outdoors here in Walker County and the surrounding Chattanooga area with mountains, rivers and lakes, biking and horse trails and all the hidden treasures underground!
Come visit for a day, a month or a lifetime… you won’t be disappointed!
